Gesture #01 — Hang and Let It Breathe (30 Minutes)
Haste is the enemy of longevity. Coming home and immediately closing your coat in the wardrobe is an automatic gesture, but a harmful one. The fabric has absorbed moisture from your body and the outside environment. Closing it in a confined, dark space means trapping that moisture between the fibres.
The result? Bacteria thrive, odours set in, and the fabric loses its natural elasticity.
What to Do
- The 30-minute rule. As soon as you get home, hang the garment on a hanger outside the wardrobe.
- Let it ‘breathe’ in the open air for at least half an hour.
- Only when it feels cool and dry to the touch is it ready to go back in the wardrobe.
Treat your clothes like living things that need to breathe. Because that is exactly what they are — and merino wool, with its natural moisture-wicking properties, rewards this care with extraordinary durability.
